Story
For Sam & in memory of my Dad ❤️
Ten years ago, shortly after our son Sam was diagnosed with Alport syndrome, we completed this walk through London to raise money for kidney research.
Since then, research and medical advances have made a real difference for people living with kidney disease. Better treatments, improved understanding of genetic kidney conditions like Alport syndrome, and developments in kidney donor matching and paired donation programmes have given many patients more hope and better opportunities for a life-changing transplant.
Today, Sam is waiting for a kidney transplant, and thanks to these advances, his chances of finding a suitable donor are greater than they were a decade ago.
This year, we'll be taking on the walk again as a family in Liverpool. If you're able to support us with a donation, no matter how small, we'd be incredibly grateful.
Every contribution helps fund the research and innovation that gives families like ours hope for the future.
