Story
Emma Newton was tragically killed by a falling tree on the 23 May 2011, aged just 18. In order for family and friends to do something positive, they established The Emma Newton Fund, a long term grant giving foundation designed to help give young people a helping hand in performing arts whilst celebrating the life of Emma, herself an amazing performer. On the 16 September 2012, Ed Walker and Elizabeth Griffiths will be completing the Great North Run in order to raise much needed money for this excellent fund. Whilst the fund has gained a lot of attention and support, in order for it to continue to thrive in providing such a vital role for an amazing cause, it requires constant financial help. Please help the fund continue to do such an amazing job and sponsor Ed and Elizabeth for this challenge. Oh and by the way guys, you can now donate using your phone aswell so for those of you who are unlikely to get to a PC anytime soon, this could be usefull! Just text NEWT99 followed by how much you would ike to donate (eg. £5, £3 etc) to 70070.
*Note: the proposed charity is ‘Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland’-sponsors money is going toward the Emma Newton Fund but Community Foundation now manage it and provide administration for the charity.
