Story

Towards the end of 2009 a few of us at Ewell Castle (www.ewellcastle.co.uk) started talking about undertaking the challenge of Walking the Walk  - a 26 mile or 13 mile walk through London's night time streets with decorated  bras to raise awareness and money for breast cancer causes. 'A few' soon became 17 walkers as we all shared stories of friends, family and colleagues who we would be supporting in our own challenge.

Each year Walk the Walk brings thousands of people together with the single aim of achieving personal goals and uniting together to raise money for vital breast cancer causes. They don't receive any grants or funds from the government, lottery or anyone else...all their wonderful fundraising is from all the women and men pounding the pavements all over the world.

Walk the Walk came into being 12 years ago when just 13 women Power Walked the New York City Marathon in their bras to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. What started out as a one-off fundraising event, has blossomed into a thriving multi-million pound charity, raising to date in excess of £48 million for vital breast cancer causes.
