Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

To get bang up to date with where I am, see my blog.

I found out abouExcellent, Pioneers of Sand Dams when they made an appeal on Radio 4 in 2011. Please check Excellent out and I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I was when you see what can be achieved with something as simple as a sand dam.

When I found out that they had an unfilled place in the 2012 London Marathon, and that they only get one every five years, I decided I had to run for Excellent!

I successfully completed the LM, in a time of 3:17:15.

I really wanted to do it in less than 3:15, as much as anything because that's the Fast Good for Age time for automatic entry into the LM (no need to go through the ballot or get a charity place).

In further attempts to get the magic 3:15, I ran the Kent Coastal Marathon on 2nd September 2012 and the Newcastle Town Moor Marathon on 27th October 2013. The Kent one was a disaster (3:31:20), and the Newcastle one was a lot closer, but not as close as London (3:18:03)!

Because I still haven't managed 3:15, and my donation target is still a way off, I'm going to keep fundraising: I'm running the Kent Roadrunner Marathon on 31st May.

However, let’s face it, you shouldn’t be supporting Excellent because I’m working hard in my running. Support Excellent because they’re doing really good work.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. I've got a target of £1500+ that I'd like you to help me reach
