Story

Building on our huge success of Chita Primary School, once again the ever spirited and self-motivated 62yr old is doing another self-funded event for the Secondary School phase.

Visited Zambia project on 18th June 2018 to meet the community and help set in motion the Secondary Phase, updated  regarding the scale of our project -- trustees agreed last July to support :1 x 2 additional Primary School Block, in lieu of temporary block, followed  by the 1 x 3 and 1 x 2 Secondary blocks required, a minimum for 200 senior students. Primary school's success with pupil increase from 100 to 355 children, the extension to primary urgently required as top priority. School is currently 8th out of 350 in Northern Provinces league table, desire to learn so strong.

Christine and I married 10th August 2018, and we generously decided to forego our wedding presents for project donations towards classrooms to enhance learning resources. We both plan to visit the project April 2019

On 1-3 September 2017 the ultra trail of Mont Blanc. 105 miles/30,000 ft ascent (170kms/10,000m) around France, Italy, Switzerland, in one hit, with strict cut-off 46hrs and Alan Shand who has successfully qualified for this event will be participating along with 2,300 other idiots.

Please accept this invite to continue your support and belief in Alan's outreach work with all the encouragement you can muster
