Palace to Palace 2019 · 6 October 2019 ·
If you want to go fast go alone,
If you want to go far go together
Tomorrow, 6 October, we are taking on a new challenge and our finesse in distance cycling is soon to be tested over the 90 mile Palace to Palace ride organised by the Prince's Trust. Yes you heard it correctly:
90 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor castle.
For most of you it will not be a surprise that half of the team, namely Di, is Team GB age group athlete competing in triathlons at world championships level and she can smash out an hour at warp speed, however it does not mean she is happy riding over distance. In fact we have seen her very unhappy, especially when hungry.
The other half of the team fair to say was not a born cyclist. Elevation of any size still makes Agnes heart sink and distance... well, it's just better not to discuss it, but just get on with it
Over the last few weeks we have put in some mileage into our training and we have frequented plenty of pretty tea rooms and cafes, and become connoisseurs of the lunch menus. We have rewarded ourselves at each significant milestone. But we have not covered the distance in one go, nothing like it.
Tomorrows ride will be a test of self belief and our mental strength. But we are doing it for a great cause - The Prince's Trust believe every young person should have the chance to succeed and transform their lives by developing confidence and skills to live, learn and earn. We are on board and hope you are too.
Please support us and our challenge and in return we promise to keep you entertained with posts of our ride tomorrow and throwbacks from our training.
