Exodus has been operating trips to China since 1990 and has a long history with a country now much in need of international help due to the recent terrible earthquake. The city of Chengdu in Sichuan province near the epicentre of the recent earthquake is where we visit the world famous Panda research breeding centre.

Having personally been in China when the earthquake took place - thankfully thousands of kilometres away from the epicentre - I was touched by the lines of people patiently queuing on the streets of Beijing to donate at blood banks. I also witnessed an auction happening at an antiques market to financially support the current rescue efforts.

Through Plan, Exodus is providing its clients the opportunity to raise funds to rebuild this shattered region. 

Funds raised will help Plan initially provide basic items like food, blankets, cooking utensils, plastic sheeting for shelter and temporary toilets. In the longer term, funds will be needed for reconstructing and rehabilitating damaged schools and homes, repairing water and sanitation systems and re-establishing local health services. Psychological support will also be provided to help survivors cope with the trauma. We are very grateful for any contribution you are able to make to this fund.
