Story
Hi, my name is Donna and I am a Cure Leukaemia funded specialist research nurse. Everyone's world has been turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic and, as a nurse currently working on the front-line, it is a scary and uncertain time for all healthcare professionals and our patients.
That is why I have setup this #EyeSmile campaign as a light-hearted way for us all to keep spirits up during these testing times and allow the public to show their appreciation for all healthcare professionals across the world right now working tirelessly to combat COVID-19.
The #TwoPointSixChallenge is a fantastic campaign to help raise vital funds for charities across the UK and my challenge is to flood the internet with 26,000 #EyeSmile #SelfPPE's and for those who post their photos to encourage their friends and family to donate £2.60 to show their support.
If 26,000 people were to do this that would raise £67,600 for national blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia, the charity that funds my role and also specialist research nurses at 12 blood cancer centres across the UK.
Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia will be invested in funding nurses across the UK to administer potentially life-saving clinical trials for blood cancer patients. Many of us have been redeployed to the front-line to run COVID-19 clinical trials so your generous donations would directly help the global fight against this virus.
Please get involved and help us grow the #EyeSmile challenge across the world!
Getting involved is easy:

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
