The photo above says it all. Green Heart is about the kids: 1200 kids + countless neighbors, volunteers and community members working, playing, learning and loving six school gardens throughout Charleston County...four of which are right in my neighborhood.

As a relatively new Green Heart Project board member, I'm honored to join the charge to raise $25,000 by Sept. 9 for shovels, seeds, seasonal staff and student supplies.

Green Heart's work changes lives by giving students and their families the opportunity to see, smell and hear and touch where their food originates. Our gardens also forge a common bond among participants, despite varying backgrounds. Green Heart promotes a respect of the land, ourselves and each other.
