Morrisons Great Newham London Run 2015 · 19 July 2015 ·

10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

On Sunday 19th July Faye, Kimberly, Colin and Ant will be taking part in the Great Newham London Run 4 x 1/4 Marathon Team Relay. They will each be running a 10.54K distance, passing a special sash at the end of each section to their team as they cross the former Olympic Stadium finish line. Their combined distance will be equal to a marathon!

We are doing this to raise money and awareness for Ataxia UK, a charity that provides support for people suffering with Ataxia as well as funding vital research into possible treatments and cures for Ataxia. Sadly Faye and Grace's mother (Auntie to Kimberly, Colin and Ant), Caroline Waller, lost her long and destructive fight to this awful condition on 31st December 2014. It is extremely important to us that more people are made aware of what Ataxia is, the symptoms and effects it can have on someone's life, and how we can help to find the correct treatments, and ultimately a cure for this awful condition.

A target of £500.00 has been set, however, we would love to reach the £10,000.00 target of money raised in memory of Caroline Waller this year - so a little over £500.00 would be absolutely amazing!!
