JazakAllahu khayran for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This is my first challenge for a charity organisation and I would really like everyone to show their support by donating generously for this great cause.

Women, particularly widows with children are a marginalised segment of society. They have little access to community resources and skills development centres to help them build up their products & skills to stand on their own feet. Without the means to buy tools, seeds, crops, purchase animals and invest in business, there is little way out of poverty for vulnerable women.

By empowering women to increase their own household income and break out of the brutal cycle of poverty, they have the ability to provide for themselves and their families for generations to come.

Islamic Relief offers environmentally-friendly, sustainable solutions to poverty. They don’t believe in relying on hand-to-mouth support. They strive to protect the dignity, independence and future of everyone they meet.

By providing a range of critical support including, cash grants, interest-free loan schemes, education, training and tools, Islamic Relief is not only transforming futures; they’re saving lives. Here’s how:-

- £1,080 can enrol a widow onto the business development programme to provide her with training and equipment to establish her own business and lift herself and her family out of poverty

- £500 can pay for the equipment and machinery needed for one widow to start her own business 

- £200 can train a widow in a business skill such as dress making or soap manufacturing

- £100 can contribute towards running the skills development centre
