Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am flying to Papua New Guinea to attempt to summit the highest volcano in the country; Mt Giluwe, which is also the highest volcano on the continent of Oceania. To date, I have summited the highest volcano on 6x continents and climbing this one (hopefully!) will mean that I will have completed the Volcanic 7 Summits challenge. In doing so I will become the first Palestinian and first Egyptian to complete the challenge.
With the hope of raising both flags on the summit, I was motivated to initiate a campaign for a cause I personally feel very strongly about. I aiming to raise £5,000 for the Medical Aid for Palestinians charity.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. They provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
£5,000 is a significant amount that could help the charity cover the costs of just over 1,400 litres of disinfectant, enough for just over 3x months of crucial infection control supplies in neonatal units. It can also be used to provide regular transport for families living in extreme poverty to the AEI centre as they receive treatment: these children would not be able to receive care without it.
Thank you all for your support and wish me luck climbing the mountain!
