Story

On 14 September 2021, our friend and colleague Kirsty Perkins died suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS). She was 29.

Last year we fundraised for the little boy she left behind. This year we have decided to once again undertake some fundraising for the UK’s leading SADS charity.

In the month leading up to what would have been her 31st birthday on 26 October 2022, the team at Faith PR are undertaking #31forKirsty, a series of 31-themed challenges to raise awareness and funds for SADS UK.

SADS UK aims to save lives, providing information, funding research and medical equipment to prevent premature sudden cardiac death. Working in the areas of Research, Prevention and Emergency Care, lives have been saved as a direct result of the work of SADS UK. SADS UK highlights the fact that young people and even children can be affected by potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

Our 31 for Kirsty challenges are:

  • Stefanie – run 31km a week for four weeks

  • Tom – cycle 31 miles

  • Emily – do 31km a week on the exercise bike

  • Gill - walk her dog Alfie for 31 miles across the month

  • Nicola – 31k on a cross trainer

  • Abigail – make 31 hair scrunchies in 31 days

  • Nicole - 31 squats a day for 31 days

  • Annacea 31km walk

  • Rhianne – learning Spanish for 31mins a day for 31 days

  • Georgina – walk/run 31km a week for 4 weeks and 31mins of stand up paddleboarding

  • Beth - walk 31km throughout the month

Kirsty will always be part of our lives; we miss her every day. We hope that this fundraiser will help generate much needed funds and awareness of SADS in Kirsty’s memory.
