Somerville Heart Foundation helps young people and adults who were born with a heart condition. We provide information and advice services plus conferences and events to educate, raise awareness and combat isolation. We also support mental health with counselling and workshops.

Story

Hi,

Chas Masterton, Jim Snedden, Scott Cunningham, Steve Barton , Ross Wilson, Mark Northway, Kevin Gilmour and Phil Lauder are cycling 260 from Zeebrugge on 27th August 2013 arriving Champs-Elysee, Paris on 31st August in aid of the Somerville Foundation.

Approximately 1 in 100 babies are born in the UK will have some sort of heart defect. With the right support many of these babies can live a health happy and full life. Without support they risk growing to live a life of poverty ,distress and in some case needless and premature death as they lack the information and access to expertise that would enable them to manage their heart condition. The Sommerville Foundation works to ensure that young people and adults born with a heart condition enjoy the best possible opportunities in life and wherever possible stear clear of the traps and tragedies that can, with the right support be avoided altogether.
