Ammalife is a specialist, research-driven organisation committed to tackling obstacles to good maternal health in some of the poorest parts of the world. We work in partnership with local organisations to ensure our work is sustainable, and encourage good practice through developing leadership.

Story

Laura, Matt, Rhian and Jack are running the Lisbon Marathon in just a few week's time - and when we found out that AmmaLife's London Marathon runner had to drop out due to illness, we decided to try and raise some money for this brilliant charity, so they don't lose out!

Founded by doctors and midwives, Ammalife is a specialist, research-driven organisation committed to tackling obstacles to good maternal health in some of the poorest parts of the world.

Everything they do is designed to build on the strengths and capacities of local people to enable them to find economic, culturally appropriate, and sustainable solutions to their problems.

Their Partnerships support appropriate and effective solutions to the problem of maternal death, their Change Makers work on the ground to provide compassionate care and share knowledge and good practice throughout their careers and our practical research is contributing to important discoveries which are profoundly changing practice and improving outcomes for mothers whose health rights are denied.

Laura has worked in the international development and humanitarian sector for many years, including working with mothers in Malawi. She specialises in impact measurement....so she knows an effective charity when she sees one!

Rhian is an obstetrician, and she's volunteered in a hospital in Malawi, so she really understands how important the work of Ammalife is!

All four of us love to run :)

Please help us raise money for this brilliant cause - every little bit will be massively appreciated!
