Our aim is to provide basic support of 1200 shekels (approximately £275) to 300 families for a two-week period. I would like to raise £2,750 for 10 families.
We have been on lockdown so we can’t visit people and buy them food. However, we can send them money instead. This has been very vital help because over 1 million people are out of work, probably many more that officially have not been counted. We do not have a government at this time (not properly and officially) so receiving assistance from them is negligible. Israeli families vary greatly in size but the average size is 3.2 people and the average budget for a family for food is normally £220 for two weeks.
Our project is not to just feed people but to give them a subsidy to help with a utility bill, to buy masks and gloves and anything else they might need during this crisis. £275 will just cover these basic necessities.
