The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It controls our emotions, senses and actions. So when it breaks down, we break down. We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected. Let’s unite to accelerate progress. Today.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, here is a little explanation of why we have decided to do an organised event and raise as much money as we can in memory of Lee for this amazing charity:

On Christmas Day 2013 we lost an important member of our family to a brain tumour, this was an awful experience for everyone especially for our mum/auntie Tania who was Lee's partner. Throughout the whole time of this happening Tania was by his side all the way through it, watching him deteriorate and trying to make him as comfortable as she could, helping him in any way she could.

So you could say the reason we are doing this is also for her, for the times she sat up the hospital for as long she could, wanting to spend every minute with him, for the heartache of him actually passing away, and now being so strong and getting through this first year without him. She has had highs and lows, but when you realise how happy Lee made her this is understandable, all her family have been there with her every step of the way, and this is our way of showing our support for her and showing how much he really did mean to this family.

With it being a devastating loss to our family, Lee also had a family of his own in which every day up until the day he passed he was fighting his hardest to stay with them, especially for his daughter Emily who he loved unconditionally and always referred to as his special girl, along with Parents Les & Sandy and his sister Kelly with her family, who are the most loving people we have ever met. Meeting all these people for us as well was an honour as you could feel the love in the room every time we stepped in to see him. Everyone was so positive and we hope his family get through this upcoming month ok. One of the strongest families we have ever met.

So I hope the explanation above is a good enough reason for you to leave any sort of donation to help towards discovering these illnesses quicker or even towards helping families get through this like everyone had too with support which this charity could give and above you can see how much it means to so many people so anything you can give will be much appreciated by everyone.
