Month without sugar! · 28 April 2017

Emmaus Sheffield is homeless charity with a difference. We offer people who were formerly homeless a place to live where they can feel safe and secure, where they can rediscover their dignity and self-pride and work towards becoming self-reliant and independent.

Story

After an interesting discussion with my mum on health, and asserting the flaw to my perfect health as a fairly unhealthy relationship with unnaturally sugar packed foods, I have decided to spend a month without foods containing added sugar. This is an experiment to see whether I will feel improved in physical and mental health by the end of the month, and whether my cravings will diminish!

Although a silly method of fundraising, the beneficiaries are deserving of every donation possible, since the work they do is far from trivial. I've noticed a huge increase in homelessness in Sheffield over the past few years, and the bleak situations homeless people encounter and endure continuously should be prevented entirely, and we can help that. This is a tricky task, but Emmaus are helping combat it, so any donation would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance!

PS. The month-long period coincides with my A-level exams, so I'll be without edible solace for these!
