Fundraising for Medecins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders (MSF)
Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. This is the first time I have taken part in a triathlon and since starting training in January I have realised how much encouragement I am going to need! By sponsoring me you are giving me the moral support I need to complete this event!
We take it for granted how easy it is in this country to obtain antibiotics, creams, lotions and potions for all our ailments and how quick we are to complain when we have to wait a few months for an operation but consider for a moment the percentage of the world's population who do not have access to even the most basic of medecines or medical care. Medecins Sans Frontieres is independent of any political, religious or economic group and can speak and act freely to bring humanitarian aid to whoever needs it most, whether it is in an area of natural disaster, poverty or the most violent war zones.
They bring medical aid to crisis hit areas and are often not only the first to arrive but the only organisation to arrive.
What prompted me to raise money for MSF was reading articles about the plight of women in Congo-Brazzaville after years of civil war and it made me realise just how lucky I am to have my life here and maybe it was time to think of somebody else....
