Story
Well here we are again...but not in a bottle costume this time! Yes - this year we are going for it in a new costume! With the amazing support of Bradfield Brewery we are attempting to beat the Guinness World Record as the fastest glass to run a marathon. The target to beat is 4 hours. We've been working hard with costume makers Frenzy Creative to try and get the costume as lightweight and streamlined as possible without compromising the strict rules stipulated by the GWR team. There is no doubtthat this will be tough especially if the weather is as warm as last year!
This year I will be raising money for Myaware. This is a relatively new charity to me - but I became aware of the work the charity does after finding that a friends partner is affected by myasthenia.
Myasthenia means muscle weakness
- Myasthenia affects all ages and genders. It is treatable and can be brought under good control with medication but in some circumstances it can be fatal.
- It affects the muscles that let you move but not the automatic ones like your heart that you don't have to think about. Your brain tells your muscles to work, but the message doesn't get through.
- Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenial myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
Alternatively, I have a traditional sponsorship form if you'd like to sponsor me that way.
Thanks for looking at my page and I hope to keep you updated on my training and progress as I head towards the marathon goal.
