Fundraising for The Literacy Pirates Limited
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are a group of first year civil service faststreamers trying to raise as much money for the Hackney Pirates as we can in the next four months. Check back for more information on our fundraising events, but you can expect raffles, donut selling and much more. Alongside our fundraising commitments to the pirates, we are also donating our time to tutor children who work with the organisation. Please give all you can for this excellent cause and see below for more info on the pirates.
"Hackney Pirates is an enterprising charity working to develop the literacy, confidence and perseverance of 9-12 year olds in Hackney, so that they achieve both in school and in the world beyond.
We know that young people sometimes need some extra help to achieve their full potential. We believe that providing support outside of school can really help young people to do better in the classroom, while also developing their broader skills. We also believe that learning should be a great adventure! So working together with local schools, families and volunteers, we deliver unique real-world learning projects in our own unconventional learning environment, the Ship of Adventures.
