Story

Hi there, and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Well, the madness that we all know has been bubbling away in my subconscious has finally taken over, and I have entered the Windsor Half Marathon.

On September 30th 2007, I will drag my decrepit body over 13 odd miles of the Queens back garden at Windsor Great Park .  I’ll be doing the run to raise money for Cancer Research , there’s a link to their web site just to the left there.

Why a cancer charity?  Well, like far to many, our family has lost someone very dear to us through this wretched disease.  Lily, my mother-in-law died in March 06, and she is missed terribly.  So I simply thought I might be able to do a bit to help cleverer people than me stop others having to go though the same pain.

Now doing this run is not going to be easy.  I am old (46 by the time I do the run), and very unfit.  Very, very unfit!  So I’m in training now, well sort of.  To find out how I am doing, visit:

This is where I blog my pathetic attempts to loose weight and get the training in I’m going to need to do.

Please give generously – there are many out there who will benefit from you kindness.

Many thanks

Simon
