Weighty matters - the 5 in 6 challenge
Fundraising for Pure Insight
Story
On New Year's Eve, before having too many drinks, we foolishly agreed, to take part in the "5 in 6" diet. On Monday 7th January we commenced the challenge to lose "5 kilos in 6 weeks". We all need to lose the weight, however if we are going to make all this sacrifice, we want our efforts to be recognised and rewarded and so we agreed to raise money for a small charity where one of our number, Joe Wheeler, is a volunteer. Pure Insight is a charity that helps young people who have been in care. By providing a volunteer mentor to each young person, they try to help them develop the coping skills, knowledge and experience to take control of their lives now, and in the future.
Don't worry we are not looking for much of your hard earned cash. More importantly our purpose is to make more people aware of the charity and their good work. Perhaps in the future, some of you might volunteer or raise money for this good cause. So I would like you to sponsor one (or more) of us for either 50p or £1 per kilo, capped at a maximum of 5 kilos. So if the person you choose hits their target, all you need to pay £2.50 or £5.
