Story

I am fundraising to support the Alimiyyah programme at Cambridge Islamic College, where I have enrolled. The Advanced ‘Alimiyyah Degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies is the flagship degree level programme of Cambridge Islamic College. It is a two-year full-time residential intensive programme covering Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Communication Skills at an advanced level. It is designed for those who wish to become Islamic scholars (‘Ulema) with deep and comprehensive understanding, yet combine this high level of Islamic scholarship with their chosen professional career paths. The course is designed by Shaykh Dr Mohammad Akram Nadwi and taught by himself and other scholars who have excelled in both traditional Islamic studies and conventional university education.

"And Allah has bought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And he gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah)"

- [ al nahl 16:78 ]

I started my journey towards understanding Islam fairly recently. Very early on, I was faced with the issue of not knowing where to find reliable information and knowledge about my Deen, I came to the conclusion that the best way forward was to begin seeking this knowledge myself.

I began a weekend course in Arabic and Islamic studies,  however while it was exactly the sort of content that I was looking for - I wanted to immerse myself in this knowledge full time., Cambridge Islamic College has given me the opportunity to do exactly that, to sacrifice my time for the sake of seeking knowledge of Allah’s Deen, and to become closer to Him by it.

A responsibility that comes with gaining knowledge through, is of course spreading it. I've always loved to share the things that I enjoy through my blog, and what better way is there to transmit knowledge to the youth through the internet? Being 19 myself, I understand very well that most people in my age group practically live on the internet. There is a lot of dangerous and misleading content on the internet, so hopefully I can counter that by creating a blog full of beneficial content, deriving directly from my immersive studies into the Islamic tradition.

I am hoping to integrate the knowledge I learn into my website and my online platforms to create some sort of safe zone for my audience where they can learn and trust the knowledge I give them in'shaa'Allah.

May Allah guide us all to learn pure, true knowledge and grant us the ability to spread and teach it in whatever way is needed for our Ummah.
