We raise funds to support the Neonatal Unit to improve care for sick & premature babies

Story

As many of you know, and have supported raising money for The Early Births Fund in the past when we lost Little Maggie, I am always up for a bit of a challenge!

Hopefully there won't be any Ambulances involved this time as Roy, Stu, Rich M and myself will be 'lubing up' and getting sore backsides from the 54 miles this entails!

We are hoping to raise a bit of cash for The Early Births Fund, St Peter's Hospital, as we have done so before. This charity is so close to our hearts, particularly Lauren and Rich's having spent time there and being so well looked after by the doctors and nurses when Maggie was there for 19 days before she passed away. Ironically in Sept 2013 Baby Elliot was born prematurely at the same hospital after Lauren went into early labour with him two years to the day after we lost Maggie. Unfortunately Baby Elliot was only able to stay for 9 1/2 hours before going to keep his big sister company.

Rich has been trying to get fit mentally and physically by using his bike instead of going to the gym and will be donating the 6months of his cancelled membership to the charity to help.

We really appreciate everyone's help previously and understand we all have charities close to our hearts, but maybe next week you could just give us a thought, every single one of the 54 miles is going to be tough enough, let alone on Father's Day ( 15th June) in memory of your children! (Not to mention sitting behind Stuart's backside for this distance, Roy hasn't ridden a bike since 2012, and I'm still getting used to these clippy shoe things!)

Please donate sensibly and watch this space for another epic charity event coming soon.....ish!

Much Love

Rich.

About the charity

Previously called the Early Births Fund, the fund was set up in 2003 with the aim of raising £250,000 to provide additional intensive care cots for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This goal was achieved in 2 short years. The fund has continued on to support babies, families & staff on the NICU.
