Jordan Trek 2022

So I’m going to be doing a trek along the Jordan Rift Valley to Petra for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

As most of you know, this hospital and the incredible staff that work there, saved my little boy Theo’s life and not just once; many, many times. There is no amount of thanks that would ever be enough but I wanted to do something to help them to keep doing what they are doing and give back #PayItForward. The more funds raised, the more children that can be helped and the more families that have hope. Theo will always have complex heart issues and will always rely on the specialist care that Alder Hey provide. We just hope that they can help us to keep making as many precious memories as possible, by continuing to provide the first class care they do. Sadly some children do lose their fight. With more funds available for research, the less battles that may be lost.

I had to raise a minimum of £3750; I have already raised this mega amount thanks to the genoristy of so many people, as I should have been doing this trek before Covid came along and changed everything (albeit to Nepal originally and not Jordan back then!!). Some of the money raised will pay towards me being able to take part in the challenge, but the majority goes directly to the charity. The money raised will be going straight into leading research and improvements in the already amazing care that the hospital gives to patients & their families. 

It’s a 9 day trip with 5 days of trekking through the valleys and mountains of Jordan and after trekking a total of 77km along the Jordan Rift Valley, we'll reach our destination  - the ancient red city of Petra. I just want to add.....this trek is classified as a tougher trek than the original too!!! 🤪
