Event: Running 30 Marathons in 30 Days
We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

I’m Fawaz. In 2016 I lost my Dad to Alzheimer’s disease. The condition made my Dad aggressive and it was painful to watch how the illness affected him and the rest of my family.

I’m doing this because I don’t want any other individuals or families like my own to go through what we have been through – that’s why I’m fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK. There is currently no cure or treatment for Alzheimer’s, but I passionately believe that through research will we change this.

The Challenge: I will start running on the 11thAugust and run a marathon every day for a month, ending on the 9th September. That’s a total of 30 marathons – in total it will be 786 miles or 1266Km.

Dementia research is massively underfunded - there is just 1 dementia researcher for every 4 cancer researchers – in some small way I want to help change that.
