Story

As many of you know, I lost my first born and only son to SUDEP on June 4th 2013. Although nearly 9 years have passed, he is loved and so missed every day. SUDEP is 'sudden unexpected death in epilepsy'... In Jamal's case he was merely 26 when he went to sleep one night and never woke up.
In 2015 I walked the whole 630 miles South West Coast path for Sudep action and as the pandemic eased I set off from St Bees in Cumbria and walkedthe 192 miles across England to Robin Hood Bay in Yorkshire.
This time, starting on 26th May, I am taking on the West Highland Way in the company of my dear friend and fellow morris dancer, Cheryl.... And of course Jamal will be right beside us. When we reach the end of the trail we plan to climb Ben Nevis on 4th June (Jamal's anniversary) and weather permitting, perform a 2 person morris dance in kit on the summit! A little crazy but all in a good cause 💜
We dance with Wreckers, a Cornish border morris side who are also generously raising money this year for SUDEPaction as their chosen charity.
Hoping people will support me with donations to this little known but amazing charity. They are committed to raising awareness of Sudep and also offer unconditional support and counselling to those bereaved by Sudep. I would have been lost without them.
