Story
Stephen Gibbs sadly passed away on the morning of 15th January 2014. He died from Coronary Heart Disease at his home in Mill Hill.
The funeral service will be held at Hendon Crematorium on Thursday 23rd January at 3pm. It will be a humanist service and a celebration of his life. Please also join us after for a drink at Mill Hill services club.
Steve (aka Gibbo) was a huge character known and loved by many. He was truly one of a kind due to his unusual ways and great sense of humour.
Knowing Dad he was not keen on flowers, as in his own words... "They are a waste of money, and they don't last long." This is why we kindly ask for a donation to the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) this was a charity he held close to his heart (obviously if you would rather give flowers then that is also fine).
As many of you know he was diagnosed with Glaucoma in 1992 and over the years his eyes deteriorated eventually causing blindness. This didn't stop him trying to live his life the way he wanted to. Even though the consequences were multiple trips to various hospitals, which I am sure he told you about many times!
The world is a quieter place without him, as he was well known across the UK and in Thailand. But I am sure he is still causing havoc somewhere!
Many people have great memories of funny times and adventures they had with him. These are the things you should use to seek comfort, and to keep his memory alive.
He will be missed dearly as he was a big part of many lives.
Rest in peace Dad, and try to be good!
