Story
On March 18, 2018 we will be running in the LA Marathon as a part of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research's Training Team. We expect to log over 250 miles each during our training and we've committed to raise at least £4,000.
Steve's training schedule includes runs on 4 continents, it doesn't matter where he is at the weekend the running shoes come out and he hits the streets. Fiona and Doug aside from a trip to Bologna have been enduring the British winter and all it can muster as they doggedly stick to the program as the mileage has crept up. John is currently injured and has had limited training for the last six weeks but fear not he is stupid enough to just turn up and run on the big day and endure the pain that is bound to come his way.
We are all determined to achieve our personal goals within the event and help the Hirshberg foundation to achieve its goals too.
The statistics are grim, but with your help we have a chance to improve them. Pancreatic cancer is the #3 cancer killer in the United States amongst both men and women. Nine out of ten pancreatic cancer patients will die. The average life expectancy after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is just 3-6 months. I would greatly appreciate your kind consideration by making a donation towards this goal.
Please make a donation today and help us to reach our fundraising goal!
The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing pancreatic cancer research, and providing information, resources and support to patients and families. Twenty years ago we set out on an extraordinary journey to fight pancreatic cancer and we made a promise that still holds true; we would be relentless and we would never give up! We've since raised over $20 million dollars for research & education and remain committed to fight for families, friends, survivors around the world!
