Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money in memory of a special person who was part of my life for 10 years. Her name was Lumi, short for Luminita, which means "little light" and characterises her perfectly. Her positivity in the face of adversity was truly something to be admired. Incredibly, her suffering rarely stopped her from smiling. Lumi's little light sadly went out on 5th October 2021 and I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9th October 2022 to mark just over one year since her passing.
Scleroderma is a a rare, chronic disease of the immune system, blood vessels and connective tissue. There are 2.5 million people worldwide who are living with scleroderma, including around 19,000 within the UK. Alongside scleroderma, it’s common to have a condition called Raynaud’s. People with Raynaud’s are sensitive to temperature changes or cold, and this can set off tingling, discomfort or pain, usually in the hands and feet.
All money raised will be sent directly to Scleroderma & Raynaud's UK (SRUK) a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with Scleroderma and Raynaud's disease. Thank you for donating to this worthy cause!
