Story
I have been asked to do the children's address at church on Sunday. The passage is Mark 8:1-21 - the story of Jesus feeding the four thousand. In this story Jesus takes seven loaves and feeds four thousand.
I wanted to encourage the children and young people to understand the importance of giving to others, and I wondered whether we could feed people with small gifts, too.
Based on the figures on the Save the Children East Africa Food Crisis appeal webpage, £100 could give five school pupils daily lunches for an entire month in Kenya. Based on 20 school days per month, I make that £1 per lunch.
Four thousand meals is a lot, though so let's aim for feeding 400 people for £400.
Will you help me to illustrate this point, and to feed hungry children in East Africa?
