Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. Prioritising mental health has never been more critical than it is now. Over 2/3s of adults with existing mental health conditions have reported a worsening of symptoms due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with many more adults and children suffering from new mental health problems. Mental health services across the UK are critically underfunded, making the work of charities such as Mind vital to ensuring support is available to those who need it. No one should have to face these issues alone, and I know the impact that finding the right mental health support can have. Mind provides advice and support to empower those experiencing mental health issues. Mind also campaigns and lobbies the government to improve services, whilst raising awareness and promoting understanding.
