Since 2004 Human Appeal International has been implementing its ‘Feed the Fasting’ project in Al-Aqsa mosque during the holy month of Ramadan. The cost of providing 1 Iftar meal is £3 and the blessings are many.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bismillah Ir-Rahman Ir-Raheem
As-salaamu Alaikum Wa’rahmatullahi Wa’barakatuh
Ramadhan is upon us and we are all striving to make the most of this blessed month. As Muslims we prepare for this beautiful time of year, and look forward to it as a means to better ourselves and collect as many good deeds as possible. We must remember that although Ramadhan is personal to each and every one of us, with all of us having our own targets that we want to achieve, we cannot and must not forget that this month is also about unity and bringing people together.
Yes we must do the best we can as individuals to get closer to our Creator, but we must remember there are many ways in which we can achieve this closeness: seeking knowledge, spreading that knowledge, being sincere in ibadaah (worship) and being in constant remembrance of Allah subhana wa’tala, tending and fulfilling ones families needs as well as being an obedient slave and not causing harm to others by way of tongue or action. The area we want to concentrate on through our campaign is by being those who help their brothers and sisters in Islam. Not only do we want to help those that are unfortunate and cannot afford basic food for Iftar time, we want to help our brothers and sisters that are donating towards this cause by sharing knowledge.
The Feed the Fasting Campaign is a unique project, by donating you are contributing towards paying for the iftar of many brothers and sisters in Palestine (as pictured), and another 23 deprived countries. You can donate as much as you like knowing that the money will go direct to this cause and help the most needy insha’Allah.
"Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward." [Tirmidhi]
We have also incorporated a video/blog series into this project which can be found at: http://www.islamictube.net and http://islamictube.net/blog/ (You can leave feedback or questions here). By supporting our campaign, not only do you have the opportunity to donate towards a fantastic cause (which insha’Allah you are rewarded for), but we want to make this an opportunity where you get something back. What we want to offer is worth more than any worldly possession, something which will be of real benefit to you. Knowledge of Islam is priceless, as part of our campaign we will be launching a blog which will give you tips and advice about Ramadhan. We want you to make the best of Ramadhan, and want to offer you the opportunity to follow the videos and blog as a means to learn, implement and share knowledge insha’Allah. The blog articles will be brief and easy to absorb, we hope that you find them beneficial and ask you to kindly support our campaign by spreading the word on our behalf.

You can find more pictures from the Human Appeal (2006) Iftar programme in the grounds of Masjid Al-Aqsa here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/humanappeal/sets/72157621904405365/show/. Human Appeal staff met with the deprived brothers and sisters, and saw their daily struggle; unnecessarily being stopped and checked (as so were HA staff), having zero rights, seeing nothing but silence and misery in their faces....
It's more expensive to live there than in the West, may Allah subhana wa'tala give them peace, ameen
Jazak’Allah khair for your contribution, may Allah subhana wa’tala reward all those who have contributed towards this effort, ameen!
