I have been inspired to do something completely bonkers that takes me well and truly out of my comfort zone and have decided to swim 1 mile in open water as part of the Great North Swim in  on June 14th. The thought of this terrifies me! I’ve done this because I believe that parents and carers in Ilkley are crying out for all that Dan’s Den can provide and hope that by doing this swim you will sponsor me and take us that step closer to opening Dan’s Den.

The Dan’s Den project is a proposal to provide a not for profit Soft Play facility in a large hall situated within , Ilkley. I believe it will be an incredible benefit to Ilkley when it opens.

For Dan’s Den to open we need to raise £230,000. We are already over half way there, but there is still a long way to go. PLEASE dig deep, think of me splashing my way round the mile in Windermere and sponsor me. 

In Ilkley, there are currently a lack of affordable opportunities for child development and play, and Dan’s Den research has shown that there is a great demand for such a facility. Dan’s Den will be a  fun, friendly and welcoming place to all, regardless of family circumstances, financial vulnerability or disability/special needs and a stimulating and enjoyable place to welcome all children and their families in the Ilkley area and beyond.
