Story
Life in the past 20 years has significantly improved for Afghan women. Girls could count on going to school. Women could go to university; get a job; enter politics; run for president. Women’s rights were being promoted equally. Now the Taliban is going door to door searching for women’s rights activists.
Feminists of_ is a network, movement, and organisation which creates spaces for intersectional feminists to connect, advocate, and act. We have created this campaign to fundraise for Women for Afghan Women who are a brilliant charity who support women and girls in Afghanistan and Afghan refugees abroad.
The Unite For Afghan Women campaign will enable people to direct their anger, empathy, and energy into making a positive impact.
We invite you to come to our London fundraising and film screening event at 7:30pm on September 29th. The film is about a young Afghan refugee whose family tries to sell her as a bride.
If you are not in London, you can still take part by having a private screening of the film with your friends and family in your home. Go here for full details on how to take part where you are: www.feministsof.com/uniteforafghanwomen
In whatever way you take part, we encourage you donate to Women for Afghan Women who are protecting the rights of Afghan women and girls.
We hope this inspires you to take action and join in.
