Story
Hi everybody!
I’ve left it horrendously late to set up a JustGiving page for the Hackney Half, so I’m going to donate too (on behalf of… myself) and thought it seemed reasonable to ask you, my most brilliant friends, family, lovers and followers, to chip in what you can, if you can. I’d like to raise at least £50 per mile, and anything above that will be just marvellous.
I am a miraculous physical specimen, as everyone knows, and the only reason I didn’t compete at the Tokyo Olympics was that I missed their email saying it was going to be rearranged, and turned up a year early I will probably embarrass all the other runners with my incredible pace and astonishing endurance.
I’d venture a guess that almost everyone reading this knows somebody who’s been affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. It’s an incredibly difficult condition to live with, and we don’t understand anywhere near enough about it. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer’s Society will work tirelessly to create a society where people affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. That doesn’t seem like an unreasonable thing to aim for, does it? Let’s help them do it.
