Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 26th April the B Gifted family will be doing their bit to raise money for Maggie's Charity.

Fi will be making face masks and laundry bags available to buy on https://www.bgifted.co.uk/collections/fundraising-items  with £5 from each item going directly to Maggie's charity.

Steve & Thomas will be cycling 26 miles.

Georgina will be baking 26 cupcakes or cookies (depending on what ingredients are available at the time) and then sold outside our home in Charlton Kings with all sales going to Maggies.

So here's the reason for this particular day of activities.

The UK’s charities need your help

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events.

The Virgin Money London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.

Many of these charities have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most; thousands of staff have been placed on furlough and many charities will not survive the next few months.

With this in mind, I have chosen to take part in the #twopointsixchallenge in aid of Maggies Cheltenham.  Many people with cancer will have to live with the devastating impact of delayed treatment and surgery.  The pyschological toll of self-isolating alongside the anxiety that cancer brings can be overwhelming.  Maggies are working alongside the NHS to help people cope with the uncertainty and stress at this time.

For further information on Maggies, please go to this link https://www.maggies.org/our-centres/maggies-cheltenham/

Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so so much.

Fi, Steve, Thomas & Georgina from BGiftedUK.
