The NHS has provided an insurmountable level of support to
us as individuals over the years. In turn the opportunity to give something back could not be missed. With the current pandemic magnifying the incredible service the NHS offer, contributing towards the GICU project seemed the perfect way to show our appreciation.

Our intensive care unit in Southampton is 46 years old, and the rooms are not designed to cope with the huge demand for our care. 2020 has challenged us like never before, however our staff have gone above and beyond every day since the coronavirus pandemic began.While the building works to extend our general intensive care unit was completed in September, right now we urgently need your help to equip the new unit for our staff and patients. We currently treat 2,500 patients every year, and all will receive some form of rehabilitation. The Charity is raising £1million to provide a dedicated rehabilitation space, a palliative care suite to allow for a dignified death, a relatives quiet room so that families can be close to loved ones, as well as décor and plants to bring the outside in to create a more tranquil environment.Help us to provide a unit that will completely revolutionise the standard of intensive care for everyone in Southampton.
