Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Whats this all about then....

A little over two years ago my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. It was a big old slap in the face to our family and hit us all quite hard, but no one more so than my dad. My dad was always the life and soul of a party, always the entertainer, host and legendary DJ. When he was first diagnosed we lost this part of him. He became quite inward and shy. Embarrassed to be out and about and scared of engaging in conversations, far from who he is. But after a few months of battle, he turned the corner, he woke up and realised he didn't want to let this twat of a disease dictate who he was. He started to fight.

Last year my fiancé did her own charity challenge to raise money for Parkinson's, it overwhelmed us all at her incredible effort in helping to raise money to fight the disease. My dad was inspired, he started to exercise and we really got our dad back. Since then he has continued to battle and we never have a dull day.

My parents are my heroes. Both of them. They are always there for me no matter what and are the strongest people I know. My dad is fighting this disease everyday, so I am going to fight too. On July the 6th I will be fighting in my first ever amateur boxing match in Camden, London.

Absolutely anything you can donate will go a long way, a pound, a penny, a fiver or more. Every little helps. Parkinson's in very underfunded in the UK, but with our help we can help beat this bastard disease.
