Three Peaks Challenge · 22 June 2019

The Fine & Country Foundation has been created to help combat one of the largest social issues in the UK – homelessness. Last year, the Government estimated around 2,414 people sleep on the street on any one night across England, a rise of 36% over three years. Often the reasons for homelessness are misunderstood, with many blaming the individuals for poor life decisions and carelessness. The reality is: people become homeless for a whole range of complex and overlapping reasons that cannot be avoided, such as family breakdowns, mental or physical health problems or debts. Solving homelessness does not only involve putting a roof over people’s heads, it is also trying to tackle the root of the problem and asking the question: why did they became homeless in the first place? The Fine & Country Foundation is dedicated to bringing together all Fine & Country agents in over 300 locations worldwide to raise awareness of the causes of homelessness whilst supporting homeless charities.

Story

The Fine & Country Foundation was established in the summer of 2014 to help combat homelessness.

Malcolm Lindley, Founder and Trustee said: "At Fine & Country we are very fortunate and privileged to be involved with beautiful property and places on a daily basis, but we cannot and will not ignore those on the other side of the coin.”

We work together with a number of homeless charities in the UK and internationally to fund projects and charities who need it most because everybody deserves a place to call home.

The National Three Peaks Challenge is a 24 Hour challenge, starting at 6am Satuday 22nd June and ending at 6am Sunday 23rd June. In this time we are aiming to climb all Three Peaks (Ben Nevis, Snowden & Scafell Pike) the total walking distance is 23 miles (37 km), but this comes with 3,064 metres (10,052 ft) of ascent. This, combined with 462 miles of driving will make this one of the toughest UK challenges for The Fine & Country Foundation yet.

Fine & Country Northern Lincolnshire along with DDM Residential, our core brand are participating with this years trek with the aim of raising £1000 for a local homeless charity.

Any donations are welcomed and thank you in advance for supporting our cause.
