We provide evidence-based training tools to make childbirth safer globally

Story

On the 1st of August myself and Tom Gullick are heading off on a cycle tour from Calais to Bolzano to raise money for PROMPT Maternity Foundation. This is a distance of roughly 1,133km through France, Switzerland then over the Alps into northern Italy entirely under our own power.

The aim of the PROMPT Maternity Foundation is to reduce preventable harm to mothers and babies in maternity care by making PROMPT training as widely available and as effective as possible. I have chosen this charity as my Dad helped found it back in 2011 and is the current CEO. I also strongly believe that everyone is entitled to the best healthcare no matter where you are from. For example, training provided by PROMPT has helped reduce maternal death rates by 34% in hospitals in Zimbabwe.

Due to the pandemic PROMPT has been unable to carry out face to face training and are now developing virtual training that requires equipment to ensure it is effective as possible. Therefore, I am setting a fundraising target of £1,500 to purchase their conference equipment.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
