Story
Over the past 6 months, I have watched Rosenna’s life change beyond what any teenager should have to experience. I have learnt how much PoTS can dictate her quality of life, with little or no control over what her body has allowed her to do. At the same time, the lack of knowledge and awareness surrounding the condition has left her feeling isolated with a very limited range of measures available to make her life any easier. It has been up to her to push through the many obstacles PoTS has thrown up for her, doing so with an unbelievable amount of strength that’s left everyone who has been through it with her, amazed by her ability to keep smiling in extremely difficult circumstances. I’m doing the Centurion challenge, a 100 mile walking challenge in 48 hours, to raise money for PoTS UK, a charity that works solely to raise awareness for people struggling with PoTS. It’s work couldn’t be more important to me, seeing as I’ve witnessed how dramatically PoTS can disrupt the lives of the people it affects, such as Rosenna. Any donations to sponsor me on my challenge would be hugely appreciated, allowing me to help in any small way I can to tackle a problem that’s really close to my heart and hopefully close as well to those that know Rosenna.
Many thanks,
Finley Richards
