London Landmarks Half Marathon 2022 · 3 April 2022 ·

We're the charity dedicated to helping families with children with brain conditions discover a better life together through our research and support.

Story

This is not an April fools day joke!   In 48 hours from  now I shall have just zoomed off the start line of the LLHM, wonky knees and all!   As yet, due to having a few techno problems, not a penny raised.   So here comes my 'Just Giving Speed Fund Raising Attempt' to raise as much possible to encourage me around the 13.1 miles and of course, in memory of an exceptional Rosie, Rosanna who would be 21 years of age right now.  She would always smile when I called her "Rosie long legs" whilst doing leg physio exercises and our pretend running.  Must find the best photo relating to that story.

Running for Cerebra, a Charity close to my heart as they started offering telephone support around 2007 which is invaluable to housebound 24/7 non paid mother carers.   Here follows Cerebras own introduction ....  "We're the charity that works with families who include children with brain conditions. We listen to them, we learn from them, we work with them. We carry out research, we design and innovate, we make and share. What we discover together makes everyone's life better. Join us on our journey, and who knows what we could find?"

Along with raising funds and donating it is also extremely important to raise awareness of the never ending plights families of disabled, SEND children endure.   Please if you can take time to learn about Cerebra on their web site and the work they do.  There is lots of information and you may be able to help other families by signposting them to essential support/information.

This includes invaluable Reasearch work, Legal Guidance and commissioning many reports.  Of particular interest is Professor Luke Clements report "Institutionalising parent carer blame" which is helpful reading to understand just some of the struggles faced.  The seach section will find the report.

Thank you for reading, a donation no matter how small hugely appreciated and please share, share and share!

 Getting ready for the dash🏃 to 🚂London🌆 & weather☔️❄️😊
