The Loony Dook · 1 January 2018
New Year's Day is a time for recovery, for family and for over indulgence before those all importnt resolutions kick in.
For us, new year this year means braving the cold as we run headlong into the Firth of Forth on New Year's Day! The water temperature is likely to be around 5degrees with only a swimsuit and a CLAN tshirt for warmth! We might be mad; but definitely Loony!
In doing the Loony Dook, we are raising funds for CLAN Cancer Support; a local charity supporting cancer patients and their families through some of the most difficult times in their lives. CLAN provide individual and group support, complementary therapies and even accommodation to make the cancer journey that little bit easier for all involved. They do this in the North east of Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
I am fortunate to see, first hand, how valued every penny raised for CLAN is, and how it contributes to the continued service to the client base. Please donate whatever you can to this very worthy cause; we really appreciate it, and so do they.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
