Channel Swim · 21 December 2022

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

In summer 2023 I will be swimming the English Channel with a team of five other Moore Barlow colleagues.

The distance is 22 miles and will take between 12-18 hours. We’ll be starting the swim in the dark at 2am and contending with sea sickness, freezing cold water, jellyfish and no wetsuit!

Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury. A spinal cord injury can happen to anyone at any time, and no one is prepared for how it will change their lives.

Through its projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support to the 50,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK, from newly injured spinal cord injury patients in hospital and throughout their lives.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated!
