Marathon in 3 days in aid of Dartmoor Zoo · 25 May 2020

Our vision is to protect threatened species and enable people to help wildlife thrive. We're home to over 400 amazing animals, some are sadly vulnerable to extinction. It costs over £11,500 each week to feed and care for them. Your donations really do help.

Story

We have set ourselves the challenge to
run a marathon between us, in 3 days, to raise money for Dartmoor Zoo, who are
struggling to feed the animals during the coronavirus lockdown. Last August, I (Fiona)
did a week of work experience at the zoo and this has inspired us to raise money
for this charity. On average the zoo has to raise £11,500 a week to care for
the animals, this is usually done through fundraising events and admissions
from visitors, however they had to close in March, which has caused them to
lose hundreds of thousands of pounds in critical funding. We therefore want to
help ensure that the Zoo will be able to re-open after lockdown.
