Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking on the pathfinder March once again, I will be walking 47 miles in memory of George Thomas.
George is our first born grandchild, on 6th December 2010 he entered the world perfect and so loved. 7th December he passed away. It has completely shattered our families hearts and worlds & we will never be complete without him.
Sands provides vital support to bereaved parents, siblings and families at the worst time in their lives.
1st June ~ marks the start of SANDS Awareness Month. 15 babies die everyday before birth or shortly after, giving the uk are one of the worst stillbirth and neonatal death rates in the developed world! SANDS put endless research in to why this happens, what can be done to prevent it and provide support to grieving families after the death of a baby.

15 Babies in the UK die everyday, 15 Families go through this horrendous hell, 15 Babies never get to come home.
This is NOT fair and HAS to change! Please help....
We are raising money to support Cambridgeshire SANDS, they work tirelessly to support anyone affected by the loss of a baby in the Cambridgeshire area. They offer support groups & support both the Rosie Addenbrookes and Hinchingbrooke hospital to help improve bereavement care. We would like to be able to provide the Rosie hospital with a dedicated bereavement suite so parents can spend time with their baby together as a family in a comfortable homely environment.
The aftercare that we had with George wasn’t good at all & it is one of my biggest regrets of my life that I didn’t say something., Isn’t it a lovely thought that families are looked after and not rushed at this heartbreaking time?
George’s rainbow siblings Harrison, Lucas and Felicity were born at the Rosie. And we would like to support the hospital to be able to have bereavement support.
