Jack was born with HLHS (hypoplastic left heart stndrome) - basically half a working heart. He was born on 5th Nov 2016 in Glasgow and flown down to London by air ambulance the next day. He had his first open heart surgery at 2 days old. He had 2 further open heart surgeries in London. One at 3 months old and the other at 5 months old. Jack was an inpatient between PICU and Savannah cardiac ward for 6 months and in this time as well as his open surgeries had 3 cardiac arrests, 3 mini strokes and 2 cases of NEC. Every member of staff was amazing with Jack and Paul and I - their care and expertise was outstanding and we would just like to give something back to these 2 departments in the Evelina. Jack will also need his next open heart surgery at the Evelina too.
