Event: Captain Tom 100
Captain Tom 100
Campaign by Marie Curie (RCN 207994 (England & Wales) and SC038731 (Scotland))
During the pandemic Captain Tom stepped up to support the NHS Covid-19 by taking on his famous walk and inspiring millions to donate. We are offering the chance to raise funds in the spirit of Captain Tom for the charity of your choice.

Story

Captain Tom was a true gentleman who through his positivity and inimitable spirit spread joy and lightness at a very difficult time.

The Foundation continues his legacy, supporting charities focusing on

* combating loneliness
* equality and education
* the NHS and other health related causes

Through this campaign, The Captain Tom Foundation will help
charities including The Mix, Young Minds and Place2Be and their vital work supporting our young people's mental health as we emerge from the pandemic.

In honour of what would have been his 101st birthday I am joining in with the #CaptainTom100 with an attempt to ride 100k on my shiny new stationary bike. Given I haven't been on a bike since I said goodbye to my trusty Raleigh Traveller way back in 2000 this will be something of a challenge!

I'd be grateful for any support to help keep Captain Tom's spirit alive and make sure worthy charities can continue to benefit.

Thank you!
